Here you will find our complete assortment of Alstroemeria varieties for the production of cut flowers.
A known factor in our pink colour range is Chanel® . Compared with other pink varieties such as Modena® and Ovation®, Chanel® has an intensive and striking colour. One can indeed call it Hot Pink!
As Chanel® is a mutation of the well known variety Sacramento®, one is secured of a plant with good growing characteristics. In the past we have sold a reasonable amount of plants of the variety Sacramento®. Our customers were very much satisfied with the growth of Sacramento®, especially growers who did not use cooling or lighting. The only minor negative point of Sacramento®, was its exceptional mix of colours. It was liked in mixed bouquets, but as a mono bunch it was more difficult to sell.
Now we have the solution with Chanel®! Same growing characteristics, but a much better and more marketable colour. The variety is now available in large quantities.
Length varies between 130-170 cm. Production is around the 220-250 stems per m2. Chanel® can produce some 2 or 3 heads, especially after 1 year of culture. Considering the small numbers of these 2-3 head stems, this will not be a major problem. Due to the high production figures, the overall result leads to a yield with more than average good quality stems.
In yellow we have many varieties with different shades of yellow.
Remarkable about Konst Caribbean is that this yellow variety shows in the stage of harvesting already its yellow colour in the bud. This is an unique selling point compared with other yellow varieties. We notice that it is getting more important for especially the retail, but also the wholesale that the flowers show their colour at the point of sales.
The stem thickness is good, but this not in combination with a too high production. The tendency is however that growers are more producing what the consumer wants, and for this the variety will succeed.
Creme is a colour normally not sold a lot, but still needed. Albatros used to be our creme in the past. Albatros is a very easy to grow variety without any problems. The only problem was how to sell them. It is not really a white one, but because of its yellow center, not a real creme as well. How should we call this colour of Albatros? This was an often heard question. Könst Boa Vista® doesn't have this yellow center. It actually is a true CREME flower, which is very large in size as well. Our UK agent Alan Cox grows it under a low temperature regime of minimum 6 C. Although production is low under these temperatures, Könst Boa Vista® seems to do a good job.
Boa Vista® is a what we call "foolproof" variety. It is able to produce good quality stems in many different circumstances. With the high temerature tolerance these plants will still produce reasonably well after a hot summer or cold winter. And although soil cooling is still advised in warmer climates, it is not necessary for a decent production after a hot summer. Next to all of this, the plants are very manageable and easy to work with.
Our newest white variety is called Bianca! Bianca produces heavy stems and very pure white flowers. It has a good heat tolerance and will produce a high number of stems in many different climates. Compared to many other white varieties, this is one of the whitest around.

Angelina is very similar to Hot Pepper. They are bread in the same year, and colourwise and growingwise pretty similar.
Both are easy growing varieties. Real hybrids. They both can stand warmer circumstances quite well, although Angelina is slightly better under warmer circumstances.
For colder growers we advise to plant Hot Pepper. The winterproduction of Hot Pepper is slightly better.
If you observe the difference in colour better there are 2 differences. Hot Pepper has more yellow in the heart or throat of the flower. Second, the colour hue of Angelina is a little more dark than Hot Pepper.
If we compare these two in stemstraighness, we think Hot Pepper will win this compitition. Angelina has a bit more bended stems.
Könst Alegria® has a striking and unusual color. With high quality stems and a nice bud presentation this variety will surprise you!
Akemi is a white flower with many similarities to Whistler. Compared to Whistler, Akemi is pure white with a better stem quality. However, the production is lower than Whistler, especially in the first year.
